Four children killed by Israel

Two Palestinian children and one women were shot by the Israeli bullets in the West Bank, according to eye- witnesses and Israeli military sources.

Israeli soldiers opened fire near al-Zabadina town, near an Israeli base, when an explosive charge went off when an Israeli armored vehicle passed by. The Palestinian witnesses could not identify the identity of the victims nor if they are from the same family. One Israeli soldier was slightly wounded by the explosion.

A Palestinian medical source said that two Palestinians including a child were wounded by the Israeli bullets in Gaza. One of them was a child was going to his school.

On the other hand, the chairman of the Palestinian authority Yasser Arafat warned in a statement to the Egyptian TV against new Israeli military operations in the Palestinian territories. In a statement with the TV correspondent in Ramullah Arafat said: "we have started to bring back our establishments which were demolished despite that (Sharon) says there is still 9 phases for war," in remarks to the "protective fence" operation carried out by the Israeli army in the West Bank.

Meantime, the Israeli army on Sunday newly incurred into the south of the West Bank. Israeli soldiers backed by some 30 tanks and other armored vehicles were deployed into Toulkarem area on Saturday evening and pulled back from it practically without opening fire.

However, an Israeli military spokesman said that some of the soldiers are still inside the city carrying out "certain operations." One 8-year old Palestinian child was killed and one Palestinian youth was gravely wounded as they were hit by the Israeli bullets in Toulkarem camp. Tamer Abu Serreyah was hit in his back, when one Israeli tank opened fire. Palestinian medical sources said that one Palestinian youth ( 18 year old) was hit in his eye during the incident and he is in a grave condition.

On the other hand, Israeli armored vehicles and heavy machinery were deployed in al-Khalil area which falls under the Palestinian self-rule authority. The Israeli military entered al-Khalil university and arrested two students suspected to have part in operations against the Israelis.
