Al-Assad confers with Iranian official

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday in Damascus met with the chief of the International Relations Bureau at the office of Iran's spiritual leader Hassan Akhtari.
During the meeting which was attended by the Iranian ambassador in Damascus Hussein Sheikh al-Islam discussions dealt with bilateral relations and conditions in the Israeli- occupied Palestinian territories.
President also received on Saturday the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Masout al-Barazani and members of the accompanying delegation.
Discussions dealt with conditions in the region and the dangers Iraq and the Iraqi people are subjected to.
