Syrian prime minister to visit Ankara
Syria-Turkey, Politics, 5/6/2002

The London- based al-Hayat daily said according to Turkish sources in Damascus that the Syrian and Turkish sides are preparing for a visit by the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro to visit Ankara in order to sign political and economic agreements, with Damascus's preliminary consent to sign a military cooperation agreement in the area of training and the exchange of expertise and observers.

Al- Hayat on sunday quoted the Turkish ambassador in Damascus Ahmad Ogoz as saying that a draft military cooperation agreement in the area of training was handed over to the chairman of the political guidance department in the Syrian army during his visit to Ankara last year.

The paper added, according to the ambassador, as saying that the two sides started cooperation in military training groups.
