Iraq: talks between Sabri, Annan positive

An Iraqi official on Saturday described the talks between the Iraqi foreign minister Naji Sabri and the secretary general of the United Nations which were held Last Wednesday and Friday as a positive step.
On his evaluation of the results of the talks, the Iraqi official said that the Iraqi position has become known by all sides through the clear desire and full flexibility in dealing directly with all pending issues.
The official indicated that his country is looking forward for an integrated deal to solve all issues like lifting the daily American and British attacks and the continued American threats against Iraq.
On the return back of the UN inspectors to Iraq, the Iraqi official indicated that the return of the inspectors will not be made apart from other issues and without getting explanations and guarantees from the UN and the work nature of these inspectors.
