United Arab Emirates-Regional, Politics, 5/6/2002

A vast citizen's national campaign to boycott the American products and services and company productions which support Israel, was launched in the United Arab Emirates in solidarity with the struggle mounted by the Palestinian people.

The chairperson of the UAE national committee for boycotting the American Merchandise Aesha al-Nueimi said in a statement on Saturday that coordination has been made between the committee and Israel's Boycott Office to define companies that should be boycotted and putting their names on lists, adding that May 11th is the world day for boycotting the America Merchandise.

Al-Nueimi said that a citizen's conference will be organized by the committee on May 13th for two days, including the Arab national committees which resist normalization with Israel in each of Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE in order to expand the boycott cycle of the American products at the Arab arena, in support of the Palestinian people.
