Palestine, Politics, 5/6/2002
The official in charge of parliamentary affairs in the Palestinian authorities Nabil Amre has quitted his post during the meeting of the Palestinian Authority on Friday evening, according to the Israeli radio.
The radio said that Amre called for the need of rebuilding the structure of the Palestinian Authority. He also announced that he will keep his seat at the Palestinian legislative council.
On Sunday, the former parliamentary affairs official at the Palestinian Authority Nabil Shaath said that a change in the formation of the Palestinian authority is the correct start to any amendment in the political and internal life of the Palestinian people, noting that the change should cover all the Palestinian authority establishments.
In an interview with the Monte Carlo radio on Sunday Amre said his resignation came in preparation to form a new authority including best Palestinian cadres in order to deal with the situation resulting from the Israeli invasion of the Palestinian cities, villages and camps to rebuild on correct foundations.
