Morocco wants stronger ties with Asian countries
Morocco-Japan, Politics, 5/4/2002

Morocco wants stronger ties with Asian countries, especially those who master high technologies and boast management expertise like Japan, Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohammed Benaissa, said Thursday at a meeting with Japanese minister of administrative management, interior, posts and telecoms, Toransuke Katayama.

The Japanese minister voiced satisfaction over the two countries' good relations, and underscored Morocco's assets, such as its geographic location, its proximity to Europe and the development progress it scored.

Benaissa stressed the importance of the two countries' ties and voiced hope they will be improved, especially in the field of management.

The Japanese official had earlier held talks with Moroccan prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, and with minister of economy, finance, privatization and tourism, Fathallah Oualalou.
