Morocco, Britain probe cooperation

Means to upgrade cooperation ties between Morocco and Britain topped talks held here between Moroccan minister of industry, commerce, energy and mining, Mustapha Mansouri, and Director general of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Digby Jones, currently visiting Morocco.
Morocco is targeted by Britain as a priority market for the next three years, alongside thirteen other countries known for their stability and development potential.
Morocco has a modern legal framework matching international norms, and offers great possibilities to British enterprises, especially in the fields of textile, electronics and tourism, he added.
Morocco plans to set up a wide range of industrial zones, which offer investors ready infrastructure for encouraging prices, the minister explained.
Digby said CBI, the most important independent business organization, aims to improve business conditions in (Morocco).
Britain is Morocco's third commercial partner after France and Spain. British exports to Morocco tripled during the past 10 years. In 2000, trade increased by 15% to reach 14 billion Dirhams in 2001.
