$ 80 million IMF loan to Jordan
Jordan, Economics, 5/2/2002
The Jordanian minister of finance Michael Martho said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreed to give Jordan USD 80 million in the framework of a loans program of a three year period.
In a press statement he made on Wednesday in Amman, Martho said that this sum will go for building and strengthening foreign reserves at the Jordanian Central Bank, paving the way to reach a program for new economic reform in Jordan that would enable Jordan to go to the Paris Club group to restructure the debt Jordan has to pay estimated at USD 3.8 billion for the Club's member states.
