Israeli president cancels European- Asian tour

The Israeli President Moshe Katsav has canceled a tour he was due to hold to several European and Asian states.

A spokesman for Katsav said that the security condition in the region and the escalation of the wave of criticism against Israel in the world because of the incidents in the West Bank and Gaza were among the other reasons that led to canceling the said tour.

The Hebrew- language Israeli radio said that Katsav intends to make this tour later.

Worthy mentioning that Katsav's office has announced he intends to hold an Asian and a European tour starting from the Czech and Lithuania as the first leg in his said tour during this month (May).
