Jordan: Four persons jailed for smuggling weapons to the Palestinians
Jordan, Local, 4/30/2002
The Jordanian State security court in Amman on Monday issued hard labor imprisonment sentences for 15 years on four persons including two army officers in the Palestinian Fatah movement and then alleviating the issued sentences to 7 and a half years with labor, after these persons were condemned of having "explosives and unlicensed weapons," according to judicial sources.
The same sources stressed that the court found another fifth convict as not guilty in the same case and also found not guilty all the persons against "a conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts," in remarks that they had prepared attacks against Israeli targets in the West Bank.
