The Israeli forces invade Hebron, inflect heavy losses, kill nine Palestinians

The Israeli forces on Monday morning broke into the Palestinian city of Hebron in the West Bank amid intensive fire, and missiles launched by Apache planes. This resulted in killing 8 Palestinians and wounding other 20.

Palestinian security sources eye witnesses said that the Israeli tanks, armored vehicles, backed by Apache planes broke into the city from several axes and the Israeli soldiers carried out vast mopping up operations and arrested more than 200 persons and imposed curfew on the city while the chairman of Hebron municipality Mustafa al-Nitshe said that Apache planes bombarded every one who tried to move even if for rescuing the wounded, and the Israeli soldiers prevented ambulances from reaching the hotbed areas. The eye witnesses added that the Israeli forces arrested large number of citizens and evacuated several houses which were converted into military barracks and also arrested 14 citizens from Takou' village in Hebron district during the breaking in operations.

Meantime, more than 10 Israeli tanks and bulldozers incurred into Rafah camp to the south of Gaza. A Palestinian security source said that strong confrontation are being taking place in the camp between the Palestinian resistance men and the israeli occupation forces.

Moreover, the Israeli tanks and bulldozers incurred in the territories belong to the Palestinian authority near Sofa crossing in Rafah amid intensive fire launched at the Palestinian citizens.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian citizen Naem Oweidah ( 30 year old)) was killed and other two wounded inside the church of Nativity by the Israeli occupation forces which besiege the church.

The chairman of the Palestinian delegation who negotiate over lifting the siege from the church of Nativity Salah al-Ta'mari said he had frozen the negotiations with the Israelis in protest of refusing to bring food to the besieged forces and in protest of the Israeli practices. al-Ta'mari set a precondition to resume the negotiations that the Palestinian side to guarantee bringing food to the besieged and halting snipping operations.

To this effect, the US President George Bush said that a progress was attained concerning the siege of the church of the Nativity. He indicated that approval of the Israeli government to permit the chairman of the Palestinian authority to move freely so as to be able to shoulder his responsibility.
