Sudan denies border violations with Eritrea

The political advisor for the Sudanese President Qutbi al-Mahdi has denied news that the Sudanese eastern front which adjoins the borders with Eritrea was exposed to any security violations.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Ayam issued on Monday, al- Mahdi stressed that there are relentless efforts to establish integrated relations between Sudan and each of Eritrea and Ethiopia in a strategic framework in light of the agreements so far made to adopt conceptions and carry out mediations and guarantees also in regard to Sudanese- Ugandan relations.
Al-Mahdi also denied that Washington had asked the Sudanese government to halt the camps for training fighters in support of the Palestinian Intifada, announced by the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. He said that the US only asked for explanations about this camps.
Meantime, the Wali of Kasla, east Sudan, stressed the conditions of the Eastern borders are stable and that the military build up of the Sudanese opposition along the border of his state has receded into the interior of the Eritrean territories.
