Saudi crown prince, US president stress peace efforts, al-Faisal says

The Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and the US President George Bush expressed their determination to continue their efforts in order to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.

In a statement issued he issued in conclusion of the visit held by the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz to the US, the Saudi foreign minister prince Saud al-Faisal said that crown prince Abdullah expressed his deep appreciation to the efforts made by the US president and the US administration to break the stalemate in the current crisis in the Middle East, noting that the two leaders stressed that this will be the first step towards political negotiations which will be conducive to a just and comprehensive peace in the region, promising continued cooperation to follow up the realization of this objective.

According to the statement which was quoted by the Saudi news agency on Monday, the two sides expressed their hope that all sides will give up the use of violence a means to solve political conflicts and stressed the solid historical relations which reflect the strategic interests of the two countries.

On Sunday evening the Saudi crown prince concluded an official visit for the US which lasted for five days. The Saudi news agency described this visit as successful.
