Football: Morocco's RAJA, WYDAD clubs survive in African Cups
Morocco, Sports, 4/29/2002

Morocco's RAJA and WYDAD of Casablanca on Sunday managed to snatch qualification tickets for coming rounds respectively of the African Champions League and the African Cup of Cup Winners.

RAJA went to Congo, where it survived a 1-2 loss to Etoile of Congo in the African Champions League. The Moroccans, who had won the first match in Casablanca 3-0, qualified on the aggregate score of 4-2.

RAJA, a three time winner of the African Champions League, will be drawn in one of two preliminary groups. The two top teams of each group will play the semi final for the league.

Another Casablanca team, WYDAD, trounced Sunday Alliance of Cote D'Ivoire 5-0 and moved to the quarter final. The Moroccans had tied 1-1 with Alliance two weeks before in Abidjan.

A Rabat club, FUS, was ousted from the African Confederation Cup, after a 0-1 loss to Satellite of Cote D'Ivoire. The two teams had tied 0-0 in Rabat.
