Moussa: Israel overstepped all limits

Arabs must expose to the rest of the world the atrocities committed by Israel which plans to wipe out the Palestinian people, Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa told a women's forum that opened in Kuwait yesterday. The Arab states should ensure that the Palestinians are given international protection against all forms of Israeli aggression and seek all means to bring Israeli war criminals to international justice, Moussa told the opening session of the Arab Women's Economic Forum.

He also called for a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East to be based on international resolutions to settle the Arab-Israeli conflict and implement the land-for-peace formula, adopted at the 1991 Madrid conference.The formula requires Israel to withdraw from all Arab territories that were occupied in the 1967 War.

"Israel has overstepped all limits in terms of military aggression, collective punishment and occupation of Palestinian self-rule areas", he said. "Israel, which has committed the worst war crimes against the Palestinians and flagrantly challenged the will of the international community, threatens peace and stability of the Middle East region," Moussa said in his speech, which was read on his behalf by the head of AL's Woman And Family Section, Azzah el-Ottifi. The martyrdom attacks against Israeli occupation troops strengthen the resolve of unarmed Palestinians to restore every inch of their occupied land and build their own independent state with Jerusalem as its eternal capital, Moussa told the forum.
