Abu al-Ragheb confers with Romanian minister
Jordan-Romania, Politics, 4/29/2002

The Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb has urged the US and the European Union as well as the international community as a whole to take a more serious position in order to settle the explosive condition in the occupied Palestinian territories.

During his meeting on Sunday in Amman with the Romanian foreign minister Mersha Juana Abu al-Ragheb stressed that the continued Israeli repression and occupation of the Israelis increase anger and create more hatred and violence. He reiterated Jordan's position in rejection of the flagrant aggression against the Palestinian people and the demands for immediate withdrawal from the Palestinian territories.

The Jordanian prime minister held Sharon responsible for violating the peace principles as a whole at the time when the Arab states sent the message of peace approved by the recent Beirut Arab summit.

For his part, the Romanian foreign minister said that the Middle East region is currently passing through a crucial turning point and there is no way to get out of the current crisis but through the political solution and ending the Israeli aggression. He said that he will carry during his forthcoming visit to Israel a message of peace.
