UN Compensation Commission plundering Iraq
Iraq, Politics, 4/25/2002
Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri said the UN Compensation Commission has accepted too many claims of reparations and plundering its money.
In a letter to the UN, "The UN Commission has approved 2.5 million compensation demands worth of $35 billion, and has paid a total of $13.67 billion in reparations," Mr. Sabri said, INA reported today.
He said "Iraq is deprived of its legal rights and excluded from observing the details of the compensation demands," thus making the UN Commission without legal base and threatens the credibility of the UN.
