Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak inspects Alexandria Library

The Egyptian First Lady Suzanne Mubarak, chairperson of the board of trustees of Alexandria library, Wednesday expressed her hope that the library would be an influential instrument in conveying the concepts of tolerance and cooperation among the civilizations and peoples of the world.
"Inside the Alexandria library, borders vanish, minds meet and individuals from all over the world work as a bee hive," Mrs. Mubarak said.
Mrs. Mubarak Wednesday inspected the museums and exhibitions at the Alexandria library and presided over a meeting of the trustee's council.
Referring to the postponement of the inauguration of the Alexandria library which was scheduled to take place on April 23, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak said "the circumstances through which the region is passing and the sadness we all feel do not permit the opening of the library at the present time. The ceremony has been put off until another date." Mrs. Mubarak said that in spite of the hatred, war and killing that surround us "the library comes to be a symbol of tolerance and cooperation among the peoples of the world."
Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak will announce on May 5 the report by; International Labour Organization (ILO) on principles of labor rights.
The report tackles the topic of child labor. Mrs. Mubarak reads the report on behalf of the Arab region, which will also be announced at international regions at the same time.
ILO has chosen Mrs. Mubarak among ten first ladies who play major role in combating child labour.
Meantime, Mrs. Mubarak chairperson of Arab women conference, will address the forum on "women and economy" due to kick off on April 27 in Kuwait.
The Egyptian delegation to the forum under Farkhunda Hassan, Secretary-General of the Egyptian councilwomen, leaves today morning to Kuwait to attend the forum.
The delegation will present a paper on "Women status in the field of economy."
