Al-Assad receives al-Sader; message from Khatami Palestinian conditions

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday at the Damascus al-Rawda palace received the deputy foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The meeting was attended by the deputy premier and foreign minister Farouk al-Shara and the Iranian ambassador in Damascus.
Al-Assad got a message from the Iranian President Sayed Muhammad Khatami relating to prevailing conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Earlier in the day, the foreign minister al-Shara met with al-Sader and members of the accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by the deputy foreign minister Suleiman Haddad, senior foreign ministry officials and the Iranian ambassador in Damascus.
Discussions dealt with "latest developments in the region especially developments in the occupied Palestinian territories of horrible massacres against humanity." View points were identical on the continued support for the Palestinians to resistance and struggle against the Israeli occupation amry.
Discussions also dealt with bilateral relations between Syria and Iran and means of strengthening them.
