Jordan, Ukraine sign two cooperation agreements

Jordan and Ukraine have signed two agreements. One is in the field of scientific and technical cooperation and the second is in the area of economic cooperation and trade exchange.
The agreement on cooperation in the field of scientific research was signed for the Jordanian side by the minister of higher education and scientific research Walid al-Maani and the Ukraine side was attended by the first deputy for the prime minister, who is accompanying the President of Ukraine Leonnade Kutchma, currently visiting Jordan since Tuesday.
The agreement, however, states to exchange scientific and technical expertise, joint researches programs, encouraging the study of the Arabic language and the Ukraine language in the two countries.
The agreement of economy and trade was signed for the Jordanian side by the minister of industry and commerce Salah Eddine al-Bashir and for Ukraine was the first deputy for the prime minister. This agreement, however, aims at developing and facilitating the trade and economic cooperation process, establishing joint projects and trade centers in the two countries. It also permits temporarily exports and imports of certain merchandise without fees or taxes.
