King Mohammed meets US energy secretary

Morocco's King Mohammed VI received Tuesday in Washington US energy secretary, Abraham Spencer.

Talks dealt with the projects being carried out in Morocco by US operators in the field of electric power and oil and gas drilling.

Spencer voiced his department's will to back the projects under way and to encourage other US investors consider the potentials offered by Morocco in the various sectors of energy and oil and mining industry.

The US energy secretary was accompanied by advisor for international affairs, Ms Randa Hudome, and US ambassador to Morocco, Ms Margaret Tutwiler.

The meeting was attended on the Moroccan side by minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Mohamed Benaissa, the advisors to the king, Andre Azoulay and Mohamed Kabbaj, Director of the Royal Office, Mohamed Rochdi Chraibi, and minister of economy, finance, privatization and tourism, Fathallah Oualalou.
