Egypt praises choice of UN investigation panel

The formation of an international team to probe Israel's violations of humanitarian laws in Palestinian territories by US Secretary-General Kofi Annan reflects his commitment to quickly prompt the panel to immediately start work, Egypt delegate to the international body Ahmed Abul Gheit said Tuesday.
Choosing a former Finnish President and two former heads of the Red Cross and the UN High Commissioner for refugees lend credibility to the report to be issued by the panel, Abul Gheit said.
