Niger severs relations with Israel in support of the Palestinians, ambassador
Palestine-Niger, Politics, 4/24/2002

Niger's ambassador in Cairo al-Haj Smila Mickaswa has stressed that his country's boycotting of relations with Israel came as a support for the Palestinian people in their just and legitimate struggle to restore back all their rights, foremost being their rights to establish their own independent state with Jerusalem as a capital.

In an exclusive statement to MENA the Niger's ambassador explained that the decision to sever relations with Israel came at the appropriate time and it was the only way to condemn Israel over its crime against the Palestinian people under the limited means Niger owns.

The ambassador indicated that there is no embassy nor any sort of cooperation with Israel at the meantime, noting that what has been rumored on Israel's exploitation of crude uranium in Niger is groundless.
