Spanish FM confers with Shaath, Peres, separately

The Spanish foreign minister Josip Picque on Tuesday in Valencia met with the Palestinian official in charge of planning and international cooperations in the Palestinian Authority Nabil Shaath and in another separate meeting with the Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres. The two meetings were held on the sideline of the Euro- Mediterranean conference currently held in Valencia, Spain.
Spanish officials said that Pique and the EU foreign affairs and security coordinator Javier Solana urged the two sides to promptly cease fire and then to immediately start talks on the final status.
