Kutchma concludes visit to Lebanon

The Ukraine's President Leonade Kutchma on Wednesday concluded his visit to Lebanon leaving for Jordan.

During his visit Kutchma discussed with the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud and with the Lebanese people means of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and the developments of conditions in the region.

Kutchma and members of the accompanying delegation on Wednesday visited the headquarters of Ukraine's unit working within UNIFIL in South Lebanon and met with Gen. Lalit Tiowari, the commander of UNIFIL in south Lebanon and high ranking UN officers and the Ukraine's unity.

Discussions during the meeting dealt with works carried out by UNIFIL in South Lebanon especially the humanitarian role played by the Ukraine's unit to returning the Lebanese citizens to their villages in south Lebanon and to eliminating the mines left by the israeli occupation forces after their pullout from south Lebanon.

Kutchma praised the efforts made by the Ukraine's engineering unit whose work needs further work and activity.
