Ptolemy II back in his place Tuesday

The huge statue of King Ptolemy II will arrive Tuesday at its place in front of the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) to be in the reception of the Library's guests. The statue was in the deep water of the Mediterranean off the Qait Bay Fort.
Zhai Hawas, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), said the statue was salvaged by the French mission in mid-1996.
