Mrs. Mubarak launches fund-raising campaign for Palestinians
Egypt-Palestine, Culture, 4/23/2002

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak chairperson of the Egyptian Red Crescent, launched on Sunday a fund-raising campaign for the Palestinians. At an Extraordinary meeting of the organization's board, Mrs. Mubarak said the meeting comes to study means to overcome the obstacles created by Israeli authorities to hinder the delivery of the humanitarian assistance to Palestinian towns.

She said the meeting decided to allocate LE 10 million as a first batch to the Palestinians.

Part of the sum will go to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide the necessary materials for the Palestinians, and the other part to enhance the Palestinian Red Crescent's capabilities in the humanitarian relief field.
