Niger severs diplomatic relations with Israel

An official statement broadcast by the national radio in Niami said that the government of Niger had severed on Sunday its diplomatic relations with Israel, the relations which were restored in October 1996.
The statement added "at this very grave and catastrophic movement the Palestinian people suffer, the government has decided to shoulder its responsibilities, declaring as from today ( Sunday) severing its diplomatic relations with Israel."
