Boxer Hameed to provide care for 3,000 Palestinian families
Palestine-UK, Politics, 4/22/2002
Renowned British Boxer Naseem Hameed who is of a Yemeni origin said that he is ready to provide support for 3,000 damaged Palestinian families in the Jenin camp in the West Bank.
The Bahraini daily al-Ayam which met Hameed in Britain quoted Hameed that he announced that what he had given "is much less than what should be provided to the Palestinian people who are facing brutal massacres without protection and aids given to them."
The paper said that Hameed's step came after he heard an impressive sermon in a Friday's prayers in the Islamic center of the British Schifield city on "the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the unarmed civilian Palestinians."
The paper added that Hameed will bear the expenses of providing the foodstuffs for the said 3,000 families through an international relief agency which will transport these aids to the Palestinians during the few coming days.
