Sunday telegraph's apology to Seif al-Islam al-Qaddafi
Libya-UK, Politics, 4/22/2002

The British daily Sunday Telegraph in its Sunday's issue published an apology to the son of the Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi over two articles it published in 1995 in which it accused him of being involved in the large scale plan for money laundry.

The paper said that it admits that the claims addressed against Seif al-Islam al-Qaddafi were groundless and that it drops all its accusations against him. Sunday Telegraph's confession was made just two days from the beginning of a court trial in London in a defamation case filed by al-Qaddafi's son against the paper.

Seif al- Islam al-Qaddafi arrived in London last Wednesday to attend the first session of the judicial case filed by his lawyers before the supreme court in London concerning damages inflicted on him as a result of the accusations raised by the paper against him.
