King Mohammed appoints new chief of telecom regulatory body

Morocco's King Mohammed VI on Friday appointed Othman Demnati, director-general of the National Telecom Regulatory Agency (ANRT). The king stressed during the audience that the rigor of the regulatory frame enforced part of Morocco's choice to liberalize the telecom sector was a key asset.
Demnati replaces Mostapha Terrab who held the post for more than 4 years. Terrab will work with the World Bank.
Royal advisors Mohamed Kabbaj and Abdelaziz Meziane Belfkih, Head of the Royal office, Mohamed Rochdi Chraibi, and charge de mission at the Royal Office, Fadel Benyaich, attended the audience.
