Morocco-Palestine, Economics, 4/17/2002

Two Moroccan planes, loaded with humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people, landed in the Airport of Amman (Jordan) on Tuesday.

The aid was conveyed to the Hachemite Charity Association, where King Abdullah II of Jordan was paying an unexpected visit.

The Jordanian King greeted the Moroccan staff and asked Morocco's ambassador to Jordan, Mehdi Alaoui, to convey his greetings to King Mohammed VI.

Morocco dispatched, upon the order of King Mohammed VI, chairman of the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Committee, the emergency humanitarian assistance to the victims in villages and cities in the West Bank.

The aid consists of important quantities of medicines.

The Moroccan ambassador to Jordan said the Jordanian King lauded the efforts made by King Mohammed VI to back the Palestinian people and voiced consideration for the Royal initiative.

The Moroccan assistance will be conveyed the soonest to the Palestinian territories, King Abdallah II said.
