Two western painters give receipts of paintings sale to Palestine
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 4/17/2002
Two western painters, France's Najia Mehadjia and Italy's Ruggero Giangiacomi have decided to give receipts of their paintings sale to the Palestinian people, who are facing occupation and aggressions by the Israeli army.
The two artists, who are presently exhibiting their work in the southern Atlantic city of Essaouira, will give all the receipts of sales to the bank account of the Palestinian embassy in Rabat.
The artists said their solidarity with the Palestinian people is a spontaneous and symbolic gesture toward the Palestinian people.
Giangiacomi, together with a group of Italian artists, had organized in 1975 a roving exhibition throughout Italy for the Palestinian cause.
