Lahoud, al-Hariri and peace

The Israeli Hebrew language radio on Tuesday quoted the American CBS news network that the Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri had called on the US administration to play a more effective role with the aim to reach peace in the Middle East. This was expressed in an interview the CBS made on Tuesday with al-Hariri.
The American news network indicated that the Lebanese President explained to secretary Powell that the call made by the Israeli Prime minister Ariel Sharon to convene a regional conference is unrealistic because it means alienating Syria and Lebanon from that conference,
