Saudi Arabia confirmed arresting Abdul Hameed al-Mubarak following demonstration

The Saudi deputy minister of the interior prince Ahmad Bin Abdul Aziz unveiled that the Saudi authorities arrested Abdul Hameed Mubarak after he had organized a demonstration of support for the Palestinian people and in denunciation of the Israeli aggression, in al-Khuber city to the Eastern part of Saudi Arabia ten days ago.
In an interview issued on Monday with the Saudi daily Okza, the Saudi deputy minister of the interior denied clashes to have had happened between the Saudi security authorities and the demonstrators and of arresting a group of demonstrators, noting that "the exaggerated news of the Qatari TV al-Jazeera made the number of arrested people thousands while the number does not exceed 200."
He explained: "we, in Saudi Arabia do not have relations with Israel for the demonstrators to come out and ask us to sever relations with it," He stressed that his country exerts all its efforts to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.
On the other hand, the Saudi minister of the interior prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz had stressed following a demonstration in al-Jouf area to the north of Saudi Arabia held by the beginning of the current month that demonstrations are not permitted in his country because they are not in compliance with the social reality of Saudi Arabia.
Worthy mentioning that the Saudi TV had organized during the few past days a campaign for funds raising for the Palestinian people, resulted in collecting 410 million Saudi Riyals, besides material donations of Gold, jewelry and cars.
