Mubarak receives Chinese Official
Egypt-China, Education, 4/15/2002

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday received visiting Chinese Education Minister Chen Zhili Education Minister Hussein kamel Bahaa-Eddin attended the meeting.

The Chinese guest arrived in Cairo Friday on a five-day visit to Egypt invited by her Egyptian counterpart.

On Saturday, Chen met with Prime Minister Atef Ebeid and Higher Education Minister and State for Scientific Research Mofid Shihab.

The Chinese official is due to take part in the inaugural ceremony of a computer lab in Ein Shams University's Al-Alson Faculty, set up by the Chinese government for students who study the Chinese language.

She will also visit Mubarak City for sciences at the sixth of October City and also attend the sixth session for Egyptian -Chinese Higher Education session to be held on Monday at the Education Ministry's headquarters.

The Chinese Minister praised the education upsurge in Egypt and China as well as exchange of scientific researches, said Bahaa-Eddin.

Chen noted that her country does not view President Mubarak as just a prominent leader in the Middle East region, but rather in the world at large.

Bahaa-Eddin said President Mubarak gave instructions on continuity of Egyptian Chinese meetings out of the two countries' strong friendly ties.

Chen underscored cooperation between Egypt and China, which is an example to be followed, describing the Mubarak education city as a great edifice.

She will embark on a sightseeing tour of Luxor City.
