Germany suspends military equipment sales to Israel

Germany temporarily suspended sales of military equipment to Israel, said German Defence Minister Rudolf Scharping, describing the German decision as an indication over the current situation in the Middle East. He denied that there are any relationship between the Middle East scene and imposing a ban on Israel.
The German government had declined to give any comments on issue several months ago.
