Kuwaiti official in Morocco with message to King Mohammed VI
Morocco-Kuwait, Politics, 4/15/2002
Kuwaiti state minister to foreign affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Sabah Assalem Al-Sabah, arrived in Rabat Monday with a message to King Mohammed VI from the ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
The official told the press upon arrival that the message deals with the crisis situation in the Palestinian territories.
He said the Emir of Kuwait "is keen on consulting with his Arab brothers, especially with H.M King Mohammed VI given Morocco's influence in the Arab and Islamic world."
Sheikh Mohamed Sabah Assalem Al-Sabah had already visited Egypt, where he handed President Hosni Mubarak a similar message.
With the adoption of the Saudi Arabian initiative during the latest Arab summit in Beirut, "Arabs have set the procedure to follow," he said, adding "the ball now is in the aggressor camp, Israel, particularly Sharon who is now totally isolated at the international scale."
The initiative, brokered by Saudi Crown Prince Abdallah, offers Israel normal relation against a withdrawal from all Arab lands occupied since 1967.
