King Mohammed dedicates dam in southern Morocco

Morocco's King Mohammed VI on Monday dedicated a new dam in the rural locality of Aouzioua, 100 km east of the Moroccan southern town of Taroudant. The king, who named the reservoir Dam of Mohamed El Mokhtar Soussi, heard explanations on the facility which has a storing capacity of 50 million cubic meters, totally destined to the irrigation of 10,000 hectares of land.
Construction works, which started in 1997, cost 330 million dirhams, nearly US$ 29.20 million.
