Saudi Arabia denies Swiss authorities to have frozen assets in the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 4/15/2002
A Saudi charity establishment which takes Riyadh as a headquarters has denied that the Swiss authorities have frozen its assets or asked to freeze its assets in Saudi Arabia.
A statement by the establishment issued on Sunday by the Saudi daily al-Watan said replying to a question put by certain mass media explained that the establishment has not eventually a bank account in Switzerland or any other account outside Saudi Arabia, considering that the establishment is targeted by opponents to the objectives carried out by the charity societies in Saudi Arabia.
The American authorities had accused the establishment's offices in Somalia and Bosnia of supporting terrorism, yet the American authorities denied later such support by the al-Harameen charity establishment, rather "al-Harameen and al-Aqsa mosque," and this came after the establishment threatened to file a judicial case against the American authorities to prove its false claims.
