Belgium to boycott Israeli trade

Sources in the diamond sector in Belgium have informed their Israeli counterparts that the Belgian authorities is thinking of boycotting the Israeli trade in protest of its practices in the occupied Palestinian territories, according to the Israeli daily Haartez.

Haartez added that it was not immediately possible to get the comment of officials in the league of diamond producers about that.

The paper indicated that Israel's imports value of the unglazed Belgian diamond is estimated between 250-300, 000 USD monthly.

Earlier, Germany had suspended shipment of tanks spare parts to Israel in a similar protest while the European Union was searching for imposing sanctions on Israel over its brutal practices against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.
