Eritrea approves border definition with Ethiopia

Eritrea on Sunday approved the decision taken by the international committee concerning the border conflict between Eritrea and Ethiopia issued on Saturday in the Hague and considered it as final and can not be backtracked, besides being a victory for both countries.

News reports quoted an Eritrean official source as saying in a statement issued on the Internet on the web-site of the ruling "the democratic and justice front" in Eritrea that when both Eritrea and Ethiopia ratified the peace agreement signed in Algiers in December 2000 the two sides vowed to accept the decision of the committee as final and definite.

An international experts committee on Saturday in the Hague issued its arbitration decision over the dispute border between Asmara and Addis Ababa. This decision, however, is very critical in the process of peace making between the two countries, which launched a war resulted in killing thousands of people between 1998- 2000.
