Powell in Damascus

US secretary of state Colin Powell arrived in Damascus today. He was met at the airport by Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa.
American sources added that Powell will discuss with President al-Assad the issue of the escalated conditions on the Israeli- Lebanese borders and then he will return back to Israeli to continue deliberation on the situation in the Palestinian territories.
