UNESCO condemns Israeli aggression on holy sites

Egypt has played an important role in issuing the resolution adopted Thursday by UNESCO world heritage office, said Egypt's ambassador to UNESCO Tahani Omar on Thursday .
The resolution condemned the Israeli attacks on the cultural centres and holy sites in Palestine.
She said that the delegation participating in meetings of the heritage office unanimously adopted the resolution to condemn the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.
The resolution called on UNESCO director- general to form a fact-finding committee to probe the situation in the Palestinian territories and destruction of the cultural centres in Palestine.
It voiced the heritage office members' concern over destruction wreaked on the Palestinian institutions by Israeli troops.
