Moroccan-Dutch businessmen call to up bilateral cooperation
Morocco-Netherlands, Economics, 4/13/2002
Dutch businessmen, currently visiting Morocco, and their peers in the Moroccan northern city of Tangiers on Thursday called for strengthening economic and commercial cooperation.
A convention of friendship and cooperation was signed between Tangier's chamber of commerce, industry and services (CCIS), and The Dutch-Moroccan Center for Foreign Trade Promotion (NMCH).
The two parties discussed cooperation and partnership perspectives in the fields of agriculture, processing industries, maritime transport, information technologies, banking and finance.
Dutch minister of foreign trade, Gerrit Ybema, who heads the delegation, had announced Sunday Netherlands decided the creation of three investment desks to promote commercial relations with Morocco.
The desks, to be located in the Dutch city of Rotterdam and in the Moroccan northern cities of Oujda and Nador, will provide counseling and assistance to Netherlands-settled Moroccans who want to invest in Morocco.
A 300,000 strong Moroccan community is settled in the Netherlands.
