Jordanian, Egyptian FMs meet on conditions in the Palestinian territories

The Jordanian foreign minister Marwan al-Mashaar and his Egyptian peer Ahmad Maher on Friday in Amman discussed the developments of conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Jordanian foreign ministry sources said the two sides concentrated their talks on the efforts to achieve an immediate Israeli withdrawal from the Palestinian territories which Israel had reoccupied recently, the cease fire and to reset the peace process into its right track as well as to furnish for a solid ground in order to maintain a comprehensive political solution in the region.

Meantime, the Jordanian minister discussed with the Palestinian official in charge of civil affairs in the Palestinian authorities Jamil al-Tureifi the situation in the Palestinian territories as a result of the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.

During the meeting al-Mashaar stressed Jordan's backing to the right of the Palestinians to establish their own independent state, while al-Tureifi briefed the Jordanian minister with latest developments on the Palestinian arena, and the drastic conditions the Palestinians suffer as a result of the fierce Israeli aggressions.
