Morocco's customs administration to accept clearance by credit card
Morocco, Local, 4/12/2002
The administration of customs and direct taxes (ADII) will henceforth accept clearance by credit card.
An agreement to this end was signed Wednesday between the ADII and la Banque Populaire Centrale (BCP).
ADII director general, Abderrazak El Mossaddeq, said this payment modality, which is meant to ease administrative procedures, is advantageous for both the administration and the users since it shields from the risks (theft, loss.) related to classical payment modalities (cash, certified checks, bonds.)
The credit card payment will not however be accepted for import duties concerning big customs operations, he said.
