Iraq-Regional, Politics, 4/11/2002

"Iraq demanded the international community to make the mid-east region free of mass destruction weapons, foremost the nukes, and to implement Paragraph 14 of the UN Security Council Resolution 687 on eliminating those weapons," INA reported today.

In a speech before the preparatory session of the 7th Conference of the countries which signed the agreement of Non-Proliferation of Nukes weapons, Director of Disarmament Department at Iraqi Foreign Ministry Wajdi Abbas said "that this requires attach the Zionist entity with this agreement and make all its nuclear reactors open to the International Atomic Energy Agency to eliminate all its arsenal of Mass destruction weapons."

Wajdi said "the savage aggression launched by the Zionist entity against the people of Palestine and its bombing of the Palestinian cities and villages constitutes a terrorism of a state, a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the international law and a threat against international security and peace."
