Arab states delay new UN security council resolution on Israel

As the Arab states on Tuesday approved to postpone for one day its attempt to issue a new and effective resolution by the UN Security Council providing for the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Palestinian territories.

The Israeli foreign minister Shimon Peres said that there are strong international pressures on Israel and that on the ground of that the Israeli forces should pull out from every place in the West Bank according to developments in the field.

Meantime, the Israeli finance minister Shalfan Shaloum said that the decision taken by his government to isolate Arafat was wrong as it was supposed to have had expelled him from the Palestinian areas ultimately.

On the other hand, the Palestinian authority has called on the Arab bar association to form a committee to investigate the Israeli crimes against the Palestinians.

The Palestinian Authority also called on the UN secretary general, the ICRC, UNRWA and the international commission on Human rights to convert the visit of the UNHCR Commissioner Mary Robinson into a fact finding mission and held Annan and the international community responsible for the slowness in taking such a step.
